Global Warming... Martian Warming

It's hot at Politmus... thanks to Global Warming.
Some Politmus members are taking a contrarian look at global warming. A new discovery that Mars is heating up like earth would suggest that Earth's increasing temperature is due to solar, not human activities.
And, that sounds like a debate!

Is The Media Easily Fooled?

Some Politmus members wonder whether the Media is telling the whole story about the new breakthrough on North Korea's nuclear program.
According to Politmus member, Entebbe:
"This is a shame. If sanctions brought them this far, the strengthening of sanctions could bring about an end to the regime. We're just putting these murderous henchmen on life support."
The questions seem to be: are reporters asking the tough questions? Is their reporting deep enough? Or are they just following the obvious track?
So far, no articles have been posted on Politmus that ties in sanctions with North Korea's willingness to "play ball."
It's your turn. What's your take on North Korea or any other issue of the day?

What the Media Isn't Saying

Sometimes, it's what the media isn't saying that proves it's bias.
Have you found instances where the media hushes up stories or buries facts to cover it's bias?
We've had a couple allegations of that in Politmus this week. In several cases, media outlets have seemed to bury or eliminate the party affiliation in a story.
In another case, a non-mainstream source picks up a huge story that the government may have lied in a case against two border patrol agents.
Show us what you have! If you can find cases of the media (suspiciously) not doing their job, post the url on Politmus, then indicate the bias (red or blue, or right or left) and tell us why you think the story was biased or missed by the mainstream media.

Is the Media Anti-Christian

Is the Media biased against Christians?
The answer is "yes," according to one anonymous poster on Politmus.
When speaking about fundamentalism in Islamic countries, the Media seems to be more forgiving, this poster writes after reviewing a story about a dance party in Saudi Arabia that was broken up by religious police. The party participants were sentenced to lashings.
Entebbe, always the prankster on Politmus, offers his two cents, as well... with a joke.
What do you think?

The War by Committee

Many Politmus members are starting to believe that the Iraq war is getting bogged down in bureaucracy... not on the battlefield.
The phrase "War by Committee" has come up more often. And, the media, according to these members, aren't doing a good job pointing this out.
Do you agree with this assessment? You're invited to participate. Just sign up as a Politmus member, find a story, and politmus it.

Tick... Tick... Tick...

Politmus member Lone Ranger has politmused a story about the Doomsday clock.
What's a Doomsday clock? Apparently, a group of scientists (who must be all caught up on their research work) try to calculate when the world will come to an end.
Sounds like a fun way to spend an afternoon.
Due to nuclear proliferation and climate change, the scientists have moved the clock back... meaning the world will end a little sooner than expected.
What's your take on the Doomsday Clock. Go to Politmus and tell us what you think.
But, hurry. Time is running out.

Vietnam, the Sequel

Politmus member, Litmo, added a BBC report that draws comparisons between Iraq and Vietnam.
Over time, the story suggests, the Johnson administration continually increased troop strength in Vietnam and tried to rely on the South Vietnam government to win the war.
Neither move was successful and, yet, these are both moves President Bush is planning for Iraq.
Is this what the U.S. is facing in Iraq? Or, does history not repeat itself... exactly?
Or is this a biased BBC report?
